Introduction
Diosmin powder was first isolated from Scrophularianodosa in 1925 and was first used as a therapeutic drug in 1962. In European Chemicalbook, diosmin has been used for more than 30 years as a vasoprotective agent and as a treatment for chronic venous diseases.

Since the content of diosmin in natural plants is very low, the current medicinal diosmin is chemically synthesized from the natural extraction drug hesperidin.
The production steps are as follows: adding hesperidin (glycoside) into a mixed solvent of pyridine and dimethyl sulfoxide, then adding potassium iodide and sulfuric acid to carry out dehydrogenation reaction to obtain a reaction intermediate; adding methanol containing sodium hydroxide to the reaction intermediate The solution was reacted; then acid was added to adjust the pH value, and diosmin was obtained by standing for crystallization. The purity of diosmin produced by this method is generally lower than 95%, which is not suitable for sale as a medicine, and further separation and purification are required.

Function & Application
Diosmin powder is a venous tonic and vasoprotective agent.
1. For the venous system, diosmin can prolong the time that epinephrine acts on the venous wall to cause contraction, thereby increasing venous tone;
